The brush designs can also be exported to other applications such as Photoshop. The brushes are all generally stored as artistic brushes so can be applied in one flowing brush stroke. The brushes can be converted quickly to scatter brushes with many other properties applied. The brushes can also be converted to pattern brushes. The brushes are all stored in native AI format files and can be accessed via the Illustrator brushes palette / libraries functionality. The brushes can also be accessed by opening the actual AI file and the designs can be quickly modified there and saved as a new brushes file (say you want all the brushes to be gray or red etc) Brushes can applied in many ways such as changing the direction, the tinting of the brushes as well as applied proportionally. The brushes can be used as frames or dividers as well.
