Accessing Brushes for Illustrator

Screenshots are shown with kind permission of Adobe Systems Incorporated. The brushes are all accessed via the brushes palette in Illustrator (access this via the window > brushes menu command). You will then see a palette with all the current brushes for the document. The brushes can be duplicated, removed, etc there are also a variety of brushes shown such as scatter and artistic etc brush types. To access the mixed brushes from graphicxtras.com, go to the right side menu of the Illustrator brush palette and select the open brush library command, you will then see all the existing brush libraries supplied by Adobe and then you can open other libraries, in this the GX17 mixed brushes library. Once opened, you can select the brushes and add to the document library. Apply via the brush tool (comes with many options)
