Brushes to symbols and paths
The brush strokes can be turned into Illustrator symbols as well as being as used as standard paths, simply drag the brush design from the brushes palette to the document and then apply effects etc as required

Opening brushes files in Illustrator ®
If you open the brushes collection files in AI, you will see nothing in the main document, they are only available via the Illustrator brushes palette. You can apply opacity to the brushes, combine and then create your own unique brushes from the core brushes set.
Export brushes to Photoshop
The brushes designs can also be exported via the Illustrator export command, so you can use them in PSP and other applications. They can also be copied via the pasteboard / clipboard to Photoshop and other Adobe applications and used in those as shapes, brushes etc
Tint brushes
The brushes can be used as is but they can also be tinted to the current stroke color via the Illustrator brushes palette. Double click the required design and set the colorization method to tinting etc and then apply the brush with a variety of stroke colors.
