Arrow Fonts

Arrow Fonts Shapes PC MAC OS X to buy and use in Adobe Indesign, Pages, Word, PaintShop Pro and others

Installation of arrow true type fonts Arrows tutorial

Right click the sampler (free samplers - use the designs for commercial use etc - see our license agreement page if you have any concerns). The samplers are made up of one or two designs from the actual set and then many variants of the designs such as shadows, lines through the shapes, bubbles, circles etc

All the free samplers are, like the release sets, in TTF format.

The release sets also include the designs in EPS format for other uses such as layers in Photoshop.

Installation of arrow font shapes on MAC OS X

The installation on the MAC requires the use of the software folder 'font book' application.

On the PC, the installation varies from OS to OS but the key thing is to add the TTF font to the control panel 'fonts' folder (or the system's font folder).

Right click install of arrows on PC / Windows 7 etc

A quick and easy way to do this on the PC Windows 7 is to right click the font and you will be presented with a number of options to open (and install the file). This depends on your system setup and you might have a different set of files and options - all should at least offer the option to open the 'open with' - windows font viewer'.

Use the windows font viewer application to install the true type font.

Another option, just go to the control panel and then drag the arrow true type font TTF file from the download folder (assuming that is the location used by the download manager in your Internet browser) to the control panel 'fonts'.

In both options, you might be asked to enter your admin password and this is normal (if you are admin already this might or might not appear depending on your security setup) and you will have to enter your password for admin - on my system, I have day to day activities on a low powered user account and only access admin rarely for tasks such as adding a font etc to a system folder.

Once installed, the arrow font will now appear in the typeface / font dropdown / character palette of most software such as Photoshop etc. You can then just access the arrow character designs via the keyboard as you would any other font.

software that use the arrow shapes

Some software will allow more access to the arrow character and you can modify the design. Most software will allow you to re-color the arrow shape, re-size it via the font size etc.

Some software will also allow special effects such as shadows or metallic effects or gradients or gel effects to be added to the arrow shapes.

Some software, if they are 3D tools, will allow you to render the arrow designs as a 3D model (Photoshop Extended, Carrara, 3D Studio Max, Lightwave etc)

arrow font shapes

Examples of arrow shapes from pack 173

arrow shapes font shadow

example from pack 182, arrow shape is applied as a layer and the layer then is assigned a drop shadow via the layer menu and layer style command in Photoshop

metal arrow font

from pack 108, an arrow font shape is often applied as a layer in many applications, the layer can be converted into a metal design via styles or various effects or actions (in the case above, a metal style)

photoshop arrows

examples from pack 182 - many different arrow designs are included in the set such as outline arrow designs, abstract arrow designs, shadow arrow designs, both way arrow designs and more. The arrows are all vectors so though they look small in the designs above, they can be used to any size and they will still remain sharp and powerful designs. The arrow designs can be combined in many different ways. Personally I always find converting them to outline or expanding or converting them to arrow custom shapes an easier way to use the designs in most applications. You can combine the arrow font shapes in millions of ways as well as re-coloring the designs. You can also apply strokes to the designs and effects to the arrow shapes.

The arrow shapes are all applied in applications via the keyboard - just by typing A B C D etc - the arrow set comes with a thumbnail document in PDF which you can print off or read through to find the relationship between the arrow shapes and the keyboard. You can also use the eps designs instead of the arrow truetype, you might find them easier to use. Depending on the application, the arrow shapes are used as a layer / raster design or vector layer (Illustrator, Xara etc)

arrow shapes

arrow font shapes examples from pack 173 - this set of arrow designs includes many different shadow arrow designs, 3D arrow designs, circular arrow designs as well as rows of arrow shapes and also abstract arrow shapes. As with all the other font sets, the color doesn't need to be black and the background doesn't need to be just green. The font pack 173 includes the designs in TTF true type font format and also eps vector shapes. The EPS vector shape arrows are loaded via the file open command of many applications and if you don't have an application that can read and open eps files, it is fairly easy to find an application to batch convert the designs from eps format to PNG and JPG. The arrow shapes can be applied to any size, they are vectors. They can also be transformed, so they can be applied up or down or left or right or any angle. The arrow shapes can also be slanted (though this depends on the application) as well as warped into arc etc shapes

arrows font

examples from pack 166 - the font set includes many different arrow shapes (not just the ones displayed above). The set includes different arrow head designs as well as different arrow shapes. The arrows also include 3D and shadow designs as well as thin arrow designs. The arrow true type file is easy to load and install, just add the TTF file to the control panel fonts folder on the PC and add to the mac via the font book application. Once loaded into the system, the arrow design file can be accessed via the typeface dropdown. You can then set the color etc of the arrow shapes or apply styles such as Photoshop styles or Firework styles.

arrow font designs

examples from pack 108. The set includes many different arrow sets. Many of the sets state that the set includes 100 different shapes. In many cases there are also many more shapes than 100 as many include additional experimentatl arrow shape designs, abstract, outline variants etc. This set includes many different line arrow designs, frame arrow shapes, triangle button arrows, playback arrow designs. All the arrow shapes in the font can be used in countless commercial projects (there are very few restrictions). All the arrow shapes are by graphicxtras.com (Andrew Buckle) for many different uses.
