Additional notes
- 1) Install. Swatches are installed in the presets patterns folder and accessed via the swatches palette 'open swatch library' (or via the main windows menu)
- 2) Swatch libraries. Pattern swatches are stored in native format AI files. Once a swatch has been accessed, the swatch is added to the document's swatch palette.
- 3) Pattern transformation. The patterns can be scaled or rotated via the object menu / transform and scaling / rotation menu command. Set the checkbox to transform patterns. The pattern can be set to 10% or 500% etc of the current pattern size.
- 4) Pattern color. Depends on the pattern and the selected path. The pattern / path can be expanded, trimmed, ungrouped from the pattern defining box, and the pattern path's re-colored as required.
- 5) Pattern modified. Simply select the pattern in the palette and drag to the document, expand, ungroup from the pattern definition box, and modify the color and parts of the patter, re-drag into the pattern swatches palette to save as a pattern.
- 6) Patterns / text. Patterns can be applied to text / paths etc
- 7) Patterns as a symbol. The pattern swatches can be dragged from the pattern palette, trimmed, and re-saved as a symbol. The symbol can then be used in symbol sprayer, mapping symbol art / 3D designs etc
- 8) Patterns / appearance. Multiple patterns can be applied to the same path via the appearance palette, additional fills can be added etc.
- 9) Patterns / styles. Patterns can also be used in defining a new style (via a path) and used in future projects
- 10) Patterns / transparency. The pattern swatches can be layered on other paths and the transparency / opacity set to less than 100%
