Custom shapes and Photoshop Blending modes tutorial
The frame designs can be applied with a different blending mode from normal. Apply the shape in difference blending mode or darken. The shapes can be applied repeatedly. The shape can also be faded after applying via the edit > fade command, changing the apply opacity and blending mode.
1) Select custom shape tool
2) Select fill option (top bar of Photoshop)
3) Set color
4) Set mode from normal to 'darken' or 'difference' etc
5) Re-apply diamond as required
Photoshop edges
The frame shapes sets include many different designs to add wondeful Photoshop edge effects to any image. You can either use the complete frame packs or use the edge / trim sets that include just one side of the design (this can then be applied in different ways to each edge of an image). In the example below, the toothed shapes Photoshop edges pack (pack 136) is used.

The shape is a single edge design and it is applied as a layer (set the shape layer option via the custom shapes options). The first edge is applied to the top of the image, the layer is then duplicated and rotated and added to the left side of the image, and then the bottom and the right edge.
Flatten all the edge shapes via the layer command. Added: December 30th 2011
