EPS pattern conversion in PSP tutorial

The pattern sets generally include the rosette patterns in PNG format. Some of the sets only include the designs in vector EPS format and if you wish to use them as patterns in PaintShop Pro you need to convert them from EPS to PNG or JPG. You can do this one by one or you can run a batch process and convert all the eps files to another format

1) start PaintShop Pro

2) file menu and batch command and process

3) Select the eps files

4) set the save format - BMP or PNG etc (a format for the PaintShop Pro patterns)

You can set the size for the postscript render via the

1) file menu and preferences commands and file format preferences

2) go to the postscript option

3) Set the resolution - change from 72dpi and set image mode as required - grayscale if you wish to use the design as a texture in PSP

You can then use the converted files in a number of the folders of PSP such as patterns and textures as well as bump maps etc

Single line patterns tutorial / clothing design pattern for Photoshop

1) New document (file menu and new)

2) Draw some horizontal shapes (black but could be any color or colors)

3) Use the magic wand selection tool (press W)

4) Layer menu and new fill layer command and pattern

5) Set scale and move new pattern

If you wish to add more patterns to the latest pattern (select menu and reselect command and then layer new fill layer and repeat using the same pattern or a different pattern) and shift the pattern to fill the gaps

6) Flatten command

7) select another unfilled area and then repeat above steps of creating a fill pattern layer

See the end pattern below - this uses many different complex patterns from the rose petal pattern pack but by aligning the designs at a certain scaling (in this case, 20%) the patterns can be placed between the lines and used a single line of pattern to create a South African-like clothing pattern.
