Additional notes 1) Vector designs : Shapes are vector designs and can be transformed, scaled, rotated and sheared.
2) Painter Shapes and nozzles : Use the shape as a source for a nozzle. Drop and select, apply effects and color. Save as a RIFF and open as a nozzle.
3) Shapes and brushes : Use the shape as a source for a brush via the capture dab command. Use with most of the brushes to create stunning brush designs
4) Shapes and effects : Shapes cannot have effects applied directly. The shape needs to be converted to a layer and then the layer can be modified by all the effects / plug-ins / dynamic plug-ins
5) Shapes to shapes : Shapes can be added to the document and converted and effects applied. The layer can then be re-selected using transparency of the layer, and re-converted into a new shape (albeit probably more complex than the original shape)
6) Embellish Shapes and duplication : Shapes can be duplicated and transformed repeatedly to create unusual designs
7) Shapes and selection : Shapes can be quickly converted to a selection in Painter ™ . The selection can be transformed, borders added and more. The selection can then be added to the selection portfolio. The selection can be stroked by the current brush design
8 ) Shapes and image portfolio : Shapes can be converted into a layer and dragged to the image portfolio and saved for future use
9) Shapes and points : The shapes are vector designs and can be modified by the path / point tools. The shape can be totally changed. The shape can then be saved and re-used in future projects
10 ) Shapes export : The embellish shape file can be exported to AI Illustrator format in Painter ™. The shape can then be used in other applications
11 ) Shapes and opacity and composite methods : Shapes are like layers, the transparency / opacity of the shape can be changed to allow more or less of the lower layers to be seen. The shape layer can also be composited with the other layers using the composite method (such as normal, difference, multiply etc)
12 ) Shapes installation : Embellishment shapes have no particular install folder, I would suggest placing them in a sub folder of Painter or Painter resources folder. The shapes can be accessed via the import / acquire command found in the file menu. Once opened, the shape can be dragged to the document and used as a layer etc
13 ) Painter Shapes attributes : The shape can be filled with different colors; the stroke can be modified to different colors; the stroke width can also be modified
14) Ulead ® PhotoImpact ® : The shapes (generally) can be used in PhotoImpact. The shapes are imported via the path drawing tool / custom shape and accessed via the shapes library / easy palette. Once accessed, the shape designs can be modified in many ways adding gradients, button designs, effects and more. The shapes can also be transformed: rotated, scaled, 3D rotated, perspective etc applied.
