Textures / Photoshop ® patterns
Use the textures as a Photoshop® pattern and layer effects. Open the texture file and then use the define pattern command and then access the texture design via the layer effects dialog or the fill content dialog or the fill dialog or via the brush palette texture dialog. Another option being, convert the bitmap to PSD format and place in the displacement maps folder of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and use as a displacement map in various filters such as glass distortion.
Textures / Xara ™
Use the textures in Paint Shop Pro® Ulead PhotoImpact ® Photo-Paint ™ Adobe ® Photoshop® Corel ® Painter™ and many others such as Xara and Illustrator®. The bitmap format is accepted in most software, PC + MAC OS X. How the textures is used in each application varies (and how they are installed). Xara needs to import the bitmaps into its fill gallery. Painter can open the bitmap files but you must then select the entire texture bitmap and then use the grains palette to define the grain and save to the current library. The grain can then be used in surface texture effects, glass distortions and more. |
Textures / Seamless
All the texture designs are seamless tiles
Textures / Plug-ins
Use in various effects such as distortions & bump maps & canvas textures / third party plugins such as KPT tools (KPT gel is a good example of a plug-in that accepts bitmaps). The bitmaps can also be converted to JPG format and then used in plug-ins such as AutoF/X edges plug-in as a background.

Apply to an image or use as background. Add the texture to a layer and then use different blending modes such as difference to add the texture (as well as applying a lower opacity).
Textures / Picture tubes in Paint Shop Pro
The textures are not tubes by default but you can open the texture file in Paint Shop Pro®, change to 24-bit and then export as a picture tube. Save the tube using a 1 x 1 cell setting or set it to 4 x 4 etc for randomized texture picture tubes brush strokes. As with any picture tube, the texture can be applied with different step and scaling settings to create many different styles of texture brush stroke. |
