Scrap Book SymbolsScrap book (Tags, Wavy etc) Symbols for Adobe IllustratorVideo Tutorial: Exporting symbols to other formats - PNG etc The shapes are all stored in Illustrator format files and that format is only for Illustrator. The shapes can also be exported to other software. This is the same for the scrap booking symbols as with any other symbol packs.
1) Select the symbol or symbols in document 2) Edit menu and copy 3) Go to Photoshop etc and paste (best as smart object)
Another option is to use the file followed by save command 1) Select symbol in document 2) file menu and save 3) Select one of the formats such as PDF or SVG or EPS - set the various options for the save.
If you wish to save the symbol in a rasterized file format or one of the export formats then use the file menu and export command 1) select symbol 2) file menu and export 3) Select one of the formats such as PNG or SWF etc
Once you have saved the symbol in PNG etc you can then access the symbol file in another application such as Real Draw or Pattern Studio or Painter etc.
Use the artboard option and multiple artboards if you wish to save multiple symbols to separate files 1) Create multiple artboards 2) Add a single symbol to each artboard 3) file menu and export and use the PNG format and artboard option - creates multiple PNG files with the saved symbols
Another way to save the symbols is to use the file menu followed by scripts and use a script to save the symbol or symbols to other formats.
You can also use the print command (if you have Adobe Acrobat installed) and save the symbol to a PDF using that
One observation is that some software might have issues with some of the generated files as not all software can read all generated PDFs or generated PNGs and so you may need to use another application to re-convert the file format to a readable format (I have always found PSP to be one of the more useful tools to sort out file issues but you can find free utilities on the web)
