How to create a colorful alternating gradient in Photoshop

To create a colorful Photoshop alternating gradient, go to the gradient editor via the gradients preset picker in Photoshop CC 2018 2017 2015 2014 CS6 CS5 etc and set the color of the first stop to a color and the next stop to a different color and the next stop to first color and repeat (the distances and the number of stops is up to you as are the colors of the alternating gradient

  1. Goto to the Gradient tool in Photoshop toolbar

  2. Click gradient preset picker

  3. Goto to the gradient bar and set two opacities stops at 0 and 100 with 100% opacity

  4. Goto to the bottom of the gradient bar

  5. Move the first gradient stop to location 0% and set color to blue (via color panel)

  6. Move the second gradient stop to location 10% and set color to yellow

  7. Remove all the other gradient stops by dragging them off the bar

  8. Click the first gradient stop again and then click along bar at 20% and 40% and 60% and 80% and 100%

  9. Click the second gradient stop again and click along the bar at 30% and 50% and 70% and 90%

  10. Click OK

  11. Apply the colorful alternating gradient in Photoshop CC 2018 2017 2015 2014 CS6 etc

Of course, you can vary the color of the alternating gradient as well as varying the distances and you can always apply the gradient in numerous ways such as an ellipse
